All playable breeds in Baldur s Gate 3
As a RPG, Baldur s Gate 3 gives you the freedom to create your own playable character. There is a selection of predefined characters that you can play, but a character customization tool is also available if you want to create your own avatar.
Part of this customization process allows you to choose from one of the nine breeds of Baldur s Gate 3. Each breed gives you specific improvements and capabilities, and you may want a hand that it decides to opt. Our summary of each Baldur s gate 3 race shows you what you will get if you select them, then read the rest before you make your selection.
DROW
Underground elves who love the Goddess Lolth. There are no sub-races among which to choose for this race.

Dwarf
A breed that hates goblins and orcs, and lives in the hills or under the mountains.

Elf
Gifted with magic and beings of ethereal beauty. They live in this world but do not completely part.

half-drow
Intelligent and stubborn, the half-drows were exiled from their Drows colonies and live and work alone. There are no sub-races.
Capabilities - +1 with two skill scores at the selection of the player Racial characteristics - Cantrips, DarkVision
half-elf
Beings who have elficial and human qualities. This race is welcomed by all, but they have trouble finding a place to feel really at home. Tend to live alone or with other social pariays, and do not have sub-races
Capacities - +2 Charism score, +1 to two other capacity scores to the player s choice Racial characteristics - DarkVision, Fey Ancestry, Versatility of Skills Languages - Common, Elf and Other at the choice of the player
HALFLING
The halfelins value life at home more than any other breed. A preference for a quiet and community life rather than for fighting, and can travel by nomadic tribes to discover new lands on which to settle.

githyankki
Formal warriors who are looking for and destroying all the ecorchers of the Spirit. Trained in combat with the silver blade, and often seen overlapping red dragons. No sub-races.
Capabilities - Strength score +2, intelligence score +1 Racial Features - Decadent Mastery, Martial Prodigy
Human
The youngest common breeds, and shorter than most breeds. Possess the most increases in capacity scores because of its perseverance, determination and willingness to succeed. No sub-races.

Tiefling
Beings of demonic appearance due to a pact with the overlord of the nine hells asmodeus. Tieflings are often ridiculed and attacked in the streets for their appearance and former sin.
