Baldur s Gate and Baldur s Gate II, Improved Edition

Baldur s Gate is a D & D series (originally published in 1998) of two games with their own extensions. The two games offer an extension that focuses on black pits, a gladiator arena resembling the origins of the old Elder Scrolls IV: the arena of oblivion. The isometric visuals, meanwhile, recall more diablo and cinematics of Baldur s Gate II also resemble those of the Hunting Franchise at the Blizzard demon. The orchestra partition is impressive, as is the use of ambient noise, but some actors play very quickly, especially the dialogue between heroes. Environments range from mountain ranges to flat plains, dense forests, infested caves and sandy deserts. Although these environments are varied, there are sometimes problems of perception of depth and we do not always know what blocks me, even if it is never a member of the party that is greatly appreciated. The use of an eternal black empty serving border with each card segment is an obsolete concept that first confounds modern players who do not know the games of the late 90s. The most important problems To whom I am confronted for my player career are not the challenges of boss meetings or reading long sequences of dialogues to discover the meaning of what someone said, but the chronic bugs and the end bugs part to whom I am confronted. A quest that would normally take an hour now takes four simply because it is very difficult to get to point A to point B.

The depth of character creation is virtually expected from D & D games, the table RPG being renowned for its character sheets. You choose between a selection of seven races: human, half-elf, elf, gnome, dwarf, half-orc and halfelin. Each race presents a number of advantages and disadvantages, such as 30% resistance against the spell and magic of sleep or 10% find traps, helping players play a role on a level Elementary, which will have a workout effect on your game. You have the choice between six classes, namely the fighter, the forest custody, the cleric, the mage, the thief and the wizard. Non-human characters can also select hybrid classes such as fighter / mage or mage / thief, which leads me to ask me what D & D thinks exactly the man. You can optimize the capabilities of your character (force, intelligence, charisma, etc.), which will make them more powerful in their roles if you choose judiciously. Do you want a really smart and charismatic leader? You d better want to sacrifice your strength and dexterity. Do you want to be the most effective in body-to-body fight? The force and dexterity are then your priority. A balance between each capacity is a great way to start if you do not know what to do. Choosing an alignment puts you on your moral path, the licit and chaotic well being the only non-neutral options. This allows the game to know if you intend to be a citizen respectful of the laws or malicious criminal.

The classics that inspired RPG generations do not have aged well

Let's Play Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition - Ep 1 - Candlekeep! During the story of Baldur s Gate, you spend an orphan lost trying to find his place in the world to become a hero during your journey through the coast of the swords. As you fulfill more main quests, the dark mystery of your lineage reveals your destiny. It starts with the assassination of your single paternal figure, Gorion, while escorted from the castle in which you spent all your life. Apart from knowing that you have to go to a nearby hostel for Allies, the hero does not know what to do. To do reminiscent of the meeting of the pony pony in the Lord of the Rings: the community of the ring where Frodon and his companions seek in vain Gandalf. Baldur s gate is clearly inspired by the classic content of the fantasy before the initial exit of 1998. He also helped to guide the price of fantastic role plays for the coming decades.

Baldur s gate behaves like a slightly more interactive book entitled Choose your own adventure over the story. The story has aged very well, unlike the graphics or the user interface, because it has quests to which other games have taken, there are still many secondary quests that have not been explored in the Modern game. It is necessary to test your courage by selecting more difficult difficulties, but Beamdog offers a story mode that prevents you from seeing a game on screens. Although the fight becomes much less intense, it s a fair idea, because the combat and play mechanisms are quite dated at this point. As in many RPGs, the main scenario is excellent but secondary quests are even better. One of you delivering weapons at the bottom of a mine infested by the Kobolds to the people on the forehead and another inviting you to defend against a belligerent drunk in a hostel just because he did not love you not. Despite the poor graphics and generic gameplay, these secondary quests give the impression that the world is lived and despite the confrontation with geniuses and dragons, they give the world a real impression. During your exploration, you will discover readable books that will expand the tradition of Baldur s Gate, the way Elder Scrolls have implemented their literature over the evolution of the series. The story tells the experience through the boring monotony to browse the shore of the swords and that makes me come back to the game after repeated falls.

Baldur s gate II continues the history of the original. Become a hero, your goal is to reach the status of God and thwart any attempt to take power. Finally, you face a monstrous destiny that ends with intense battle in hell. The visuals of the suite are considerably increased, models of isometric characters to cinematics on a larger scale and optimal conversation segments. Baldur s gate II begins with more interesting characters, more intense chefs and more interesting quests. I would say that the suite improves the original in all ways but bugs, problems and crashes make it almost unplayable. When I can play, cat options feel more refined than the original title and how you answer is much more important. It is also important to respond to clashes and conflicts, as party members can give you if you do something they do not like. This more expanded morality system gives party members the feeling of being individuals, which gives you a reason not to choose neutral when you choose the alignment. I forgive Baldur s Gate 1 for its generic and missing user interface, but the suite does not have the same benefit of a doubt because the game has improved many other ways. The Baldur s Gate I & II action bar is zero because it contains only a few actions with an assortment of combat formations, but it is clear to see how it has inspired most MMORPGs, Diablo, Dragon Age, etc. This series has influenced so many games in the years but it is a case where it is a system that has been perfected and dating back to the old system feels awkward.

Even if Baldur s gate I & II tells an incredible story, which you choose to follow the secondary quests or not, it has trouble carrying the gaming experience of cinematic conversation segments. The story is interrupted by extremely dated mechanisms such as the combat / action bar and exploration. Problems, bugs, stuttering and accidents make quest for a real fight and even pass through what is fundamentally the tutorial of Baldur s gate II that has been embarrassed by so many problems I had to restart the game many times while disconnecting me more often. The stuttering of executives is normally expected here or there in an open and impressive game of the open world, but when it comes from an improved edition of Baldur s Gate, it s quite shocking. At least the frequency of these problems shocks because I have never really known such problems with the original version of this day. I like history but it s not worth stress. If the errors were corrected in the next patchs, I could see that this set was the definitive way to play Baldur s gate I & II and that I could see my score increase accordingly, but for now, the package is not Enhanced enough.
